THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE.
1. The Elbe River Electric Works (Polabake Elektrarny), National Corporation,
hydroelectric plant at Spalov (0 51A 35), southeast of Zelezny Erod9 is located
on the Jizera River where it turns at a right angle toward the south.
20 North of the power plant there is a bill 425 meters above sea level which has been
planted with trees. South of the power plant is the village of Spalov, for which
it was named.
3. The power plant was originally built before World War II; it measures 20 by 50
meters in size and has three turbines. In 1952, the turbines were changed and
all the equipment of the plant was modernized, with the result that the plant

is now capable of supplying power, even in
level of the Jizera River.
Attached to the station are a sluice and lock gates for regulating the flow of
the water.
5,0 The plant supplies power to the entire area of Turnov, the area of Semily, to
Horice (0 51/G 62) and to military installations' in the vicinity of Jicin. It
also supplies current to the Voksice military camp and the Cerovka station (sic).
