RD REFERENCES THE SOURCE EVALUATIONS IN THIS REPORT ARE DEFINITIVE. THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR XEY SEE REVERSE) SOURCE; 1. The Santos Dumont District Committee, which is one of the 16 Enterprise and District Committees which the Communist Party of. Brazil (PCB) has in the Federal District, controls all the Communist cells in the federal government agencies in that District. In one sense it should be an Enterprise Committee rather than a District Committee, since its jurisdiction is not confined to a particular area; however, it is classified as a District Committee because it does not operate within one particular enterprise, but includes government employees who hold positions in all the ministries and agencies of the federal government. It does not includeCCommunists in certain of the autonomous agencies, such as the Central do Brasil Railroad and the Lloyd Brasileiro. 2. The membership of the Santos Dumont Committee as of 1 December 1953, including new members obtained since April 1953 in the'Stalin Recruitment Campaign, is shown as follows: Location of Party Unit Number of Members Org aniz ed Cell sl Institute of Retirement and Pensions of industrial Workers (IAPI) 43 1 (3) Brazilian Institute of Geography & Statistics (.WGE) 114 1 Ministry of Finance (MF) 16 1 Ministry of Education (M.Ed) 31 1 (4) Ministry of Agriculture (M.Ag) 15 1 Ministry of Labor (M.T.) 7 # 2 SECRET STATE #g ARMY x INAVY g AIR g FBI I #X AEC 4.
