The following observations were made at Peenemuende Airfield between 24 November
and 6 December 1953:
24 November4 During the mrning, 2 aircraft with double rudder assemblies, 1 Li-2
and 4 swept-back jet fighters were parked at the runway. The swept-back jet fightere
made some practice flights. There was a 2/10 overcast and good visibility. Some
local flights were made by a Po-2 at 2 p.m.
?5 November,, During the early morning., 2 aircraft with double rudder assemblies,
and 1 Li-2 were again observed at the take--off point. An additional 10 swept--back
jet aircraft were seen at the take-off -point at 8:30 a.m. and made individual
flights. The Li-2 took off at 100-50 a.m.
30 Nom. At 7 a.m., a Po--2 took off. There was a closed ceiling and moderate
visibility. No additional air activity was observed,
1 December. At 9 a.m., 11 swept-back jet fighters were parked at the runway. They
were apparently not employed for air activity and towed back to their dispersal
area,a between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
2 December A Fo-2 took off at 1 p.m. Throughout the day, there was a 2/10 over-
cast and visibility -of about 1,000 raters.
3 December. No air activity was observed. The sky was 1/10 overcast and visibility
was moderate.
4 De aembe ? A 14--2 landed at 2 p.m. and subsequently remained at the field..
5 Dacemberr. An aircraft looking like a flying boat landed about 12:30 p.m.
6December0 No air activity was observed. There was douse fog.
Co neat. Peenemuende airfield is occupied by a naval fighter regiment. aquir,.*.d
with about 20 MiG-15s. The aircraft withcbuble rudder assemblies probably are Tu-2s
which are used for the towing of targets.
