to The following air activity was observed at I3eubrandenburg-Trc .]ethagen airfield
betweeri 1- vernber and 17 December 1953:
Hove a :,. Between 3 and 4~3O p,m , there was no air activitya Nine MiG?15 or
U--MiG-15s were counted at the field. The weather was overcast and lightly hazy.
Additional aircraft were possibly parked in the southwestern section of the field.
15 AeaWber:s, Individual take-offs by swept-back jet fighters were made after 9 a0m.
Around 10 aQm., source observed twice that 3 EiG-15 or U MiG-15s practiced
formation flying at an altitude of from 4,000 to 5,000 meters. Air activity was.
discontinued about 3 P.M.
17 Dube.,, Around 9 a.m., three I .G--15 or U IiG-.15s took off one shortly after
the other, assembled in a formation, and practiced formation flying at an altitude
of about 4,000 meters. At 2:30 p.m., aircraft took off individually, assembled in
formation, and practiced formation flying. In the afternoon, 10 MiG-15 or U-IiG-15s
were counted at the field.
20 Two radar sets, probably of Knifer sst and Fishnet types, were observed on Iiagenberg
northwest of the field. Two trucks were parked between the two sets,

southeastern sections of the field. On 4 December after nightfall, the airfield
lighting facilities were not switched on, while the.billeting buildings on the

40 Around 10:30 a.m. on 15 December, a swept-back jet fighter was observed over i3eu_
brandenburg. Du1ing the morning:- on 18 December, two PUG-15 or U-]-IiG-15s were
observed aloft.

At 4 p.m. a 27 December, a train of 21 flatcars, loaded with tank trucks and trucks,
left the airfield. iit 1:45 a.m. on 28 December, a train of 29 boxcars left Neubran
denburg and proceeded toward Stralsund. Some of the boxcars were occupied by air
force personnel, as was seen through the open doors03

and on 2 and 4 January 1954 The trains mentioned in the present report
probably belong to these scheduled shipments0 Another source reported that,
on 26 December 1953, two 3hipm ants consigned. to Piiett is airfield were
u nloaded. at Damgarten railroad station on 26 December 1953. It is
believed that the fighter regent from Neubranrllenb;rg transferred to
Pn. tnitz and that a fighter regiment from Pt .etnit z transferred to Parchi ri
on 25, 26, and 28 Decamber 1953
