1, One battalion of KBW (Corps of Internal Security) troops belonging to the 9th
KBW Regiment in Wroclaw (Breslau)' has been billeted in the former German police
barracks located in southern Legnica (Liegnitz) since the end of 1950. This
battalion is presumably a special one because it is mainly made up of Soviet
troops garbed in Polish uniforms who were brought in from the USSR under the
guise of being Poles. These Soviet troops speak poor Polish and have no contacts
with the Polish population.
2. The other Soviet units stationed in Legnica consist of an infantry regiment, tank
regiment and a strong unit of MVD troops,
3, The Soviet general staff stationed in Legnica was very large in the past, but is
now much smaller, he Soviet generals and higher staff

There are no Polish soldiers in Legnica except for the ones who are members of
the aforementioned KBW battalion.
