1.0 During the 1952 herring fishing season, the S.S. :t'TARWIK and the S.S. BIALYS' K
were asigned as supply ships to the herring fleet operating north of Iceland.
Each ship acted as supply ship to approximately 4.0 trawlers.
3. A'bott-40 Soviet :sailors ,ttere appointed to the _Polish' shlps';for the ._purpose
of loading ' the h. rri.ng from't1- e trawlers. This Is considered. a job for experts
on accotua.t of the rough seas prevalent in the area.

5. The season. was stated to have been most successful, and the area -was chosen
at the instigation of a Soviet scientist Whol, in studying the life-cycle of the
herring, is alleged to have discovered that the fish were in prime condition
when they reached a point north of Iceland on their annual migration,-.This seems
to have been. borne out by results., as the average weight of the herring caught
was 500 grain each.
6. The 5.5, NARWIK and. S.S. TOBRUK" were assigned to the job for 1953.
