1. On 13 January 19514 the barracks installation at Jena waetzen was occupied by about,
1,200 troops wearing red bordered black epaulets with artillery and tank insignia.
Close-order drill, fatigue duty, and interior duty wore ohservedo Vehicles seen at

by a ut 1 500 troops wearing red-bordered black epaulets with tank and aartille

3. On 16 January,, the barracks installation at Jena-Loebstedt was occupied by about
1,200 troops, including about 70 percent wearing red-bordered black epaulets with
artillery and tank insignia, and about 25 percent with bit.ck-bordered crimson epaulets.
Between 12 and 16 Januarys source observed a Lieutenant Colonel Kovalenkov
(phonetically) at the installation. On 14 January, about 450 troops fell in for roll
call in the barracks yard. About 35 EM with rod bordered black epaulets left the
instpallaation toward Roedigen. At ebout.4 pema,, soldiers did maintenance work on
T-34/85 tanks Nos 826 and 829 in front of the garages. On 16 January,, about 380
troops with red-bordered black and black bordered crimson epaulets left the
installation toward Jena-Z aetzeno
