REMARKS
1. On 8 January 1954 the barracks installation east of Leipziger Strasse, Altenburg,
was occupied by 56o to 600 troops wearing red-bordered black epaulets with
t,ery insignia. On 15 December, 60 troops received instruction on 2 x 152-
'howitzers in the area just north of the installation rime mover was
so en nearby. On 21 December, 1 x 85- AT gun, 5 trucks, 25X1
1 half-track vehicle and 30 troops were observed. On 6 January,
16 prime movers in the motor vehicle bays in the barracks area. On anuary,

5. On 8 January, the officer billets on Leipziger Strasse, Altenburg, were occupied
about 80 percent by officers and Soviet dependents.
