1.. The hydraulic lime plant (sic) located in the northern outskirts of Teplice-
8anov is at least 50 years old. The plant has - sypprwd,mate]y 15 administrative
employees and approximately 85 workers, ten percent of whom are women. Work
is carried on in three eight-hour shifts, each shift consisting of approximately
28 men.
2. The plant gets its raw materials from a quarry located approximately 500 yards
distant. Equipment at the quarry includes pneumatic drills and two cranes,
each with a capacity of one cubic meters # narrow-gauge railroad connects the
plant with the quarry.
3. The plant has four vertical kilns ttich are heated all year long except for a
two-week period for cleaning and repairing. Lignite is used as fuel. The
daily production is approximately 200 tons of lime, packed in paper bags of 50
kilograms. Before the currency reform, the lime sold for 20 Kcso per 100 kilO-
grams . It is believed that most of the lime is destined for experts

The general manager of the plant is Anton Lucas, a fanatical Communist. Al-
though he is not an engineer, he is capable in his work and is well like by
employees.
