mechanically at the rate of 180 degrees in five minutes. On top of the
turret there are four cupolas3 60 cm. in diameter.
There are two fuel tanks on each side of the hull. The total fuel capacity
is 211.0 liters. The tanks have armor plating 3 cm. thick. Fuel is pumped
in by an electric pump.

The T-314/49 tankl being produced in Czechoslovakia has the following character-
istics:
1. Weight, 45 tons.
2. Width, including tracks, 3.5 meters.
3. Length, 4.5 meters.
4. Height, 3 meters.
The tracks are 70 cm. wide and 3 cm. thick. The tank is propelled by two
drive sprockets, one in the front and one in the rear. It is supported
by four idlers2 60 em. "in diameter.
6. 'The Frontal armor is 6 cm. thick and that on the sides 8 cm.
7. The clearance of the hull above the ground is 40 cm. The hull is approxi-
mately two meters high.
8. The turret is 90 cm. high and 180 cm. in diameter at the base. It can

10. There are two slits in front and on the left-hand side of the hull,
each 20 by 30 cm. in size. The driver's slit is located underneath
these two and is approximately 40 by 50 cm. in size and is covered with
a plate. On both sides of the hull there are hand grips for the use of
tank-borne infantry.
11. It is believed that the engines for the tanks are produced in the Tatra
works at Koprivnice because fitters from that factory repeatedly came
to make major repairs on the engines.
12. The main armament of the tank consist of a 75 mm. gun with a barrel
2.5 meters long. The diameter of the gun at the opening of the turret
is 10 cm. and at the end of the barrel 5 cm.(sic). The 75 mme gun has
optical sights, and the rate of fire is three rounds per minute. The
total number of rounds for the gun is 250 (sic). The hull machine gun is
located on the right-hand side. The machine gun is air-cooled and it has
a rate of fire of from 200 to 300 rounds per minute.
13. Maximum speed of the tank is 60 km. per hour on the road and 25 km. per
hour across country.
1L. The radio set is of Tesla make and the aerial is two meters long. All
members of the crew are connected to each other by means of an inter-
communication system.
15. The crew consists of five men: commander, driver, co-driver, gunner,
and loader.
Comment. Possibly bogie wheels are meant, rather than idlers.
Comment. Possibly periscopic sights are meant, rather than cupolas.
