On 19 December 1953r a four-storied. building, locaateMl on the site of a
barracks on' Daenho.lni Island near Stralsund, was surrounded by a ?once
and was guarded bar a sea ptilice sentry posted at'the entrance. A sign
board had the inscription "Aussenstelle Seehhydrographischer Dienst"
(branch-office of Maritime. Hydrographical. Service) .. Sea Police members
were in the windows of that building.
