The battalion had the designation I'D 2-Abteilung". 3. The unit was quartered In the former concentration camp near the former Fuonfeichen estate. Except for the headquarters building and the officers' 0rgranization and strength of the unit were es-follows: Officers Headquarters 15 Supply platoon 5. 10 Instruction platoon 1 4 27 S-1 platoon 1 4 27 Technical ?.latcon 1 4 27 lst through 3d Cos each 5 13 62 4th (Technical) Co 5 10 40 The 1st through 3d Co were organized into three platoons of three squads each. The 4th Co included two amphibian platoons and one depot platoon. The number of men serving with the unit was scheduled to be brought by recruits to authorized strength prior to the beginning of the new training year on 1 December 1953 5. Officers of the unit included Captain Iuehle, (fnu), corrm .ander; Senior Lieutenan Wilfert, (fnu), de:uty for general affairs; Senior Lieutenant Iiupatsch, (fnu), deputy for personnel affairs; Lieutenant Hauschild, (fnu), leader of the tecthnical platoon; Lieutenant .Oaldruck, (fnu), leader ofthe S-1 platoon; Lieutenant \Herbert ~Streitmann t. leader o' the let Co; Lieutenant ieck, (fnu), lades of,the 2Q Co: Lieutenant 4~kgo, (fnu), leader of the 3d Go; and Lieutenant Lehmann,. Their morale was poor because of the isolated inr ta11 ;ti.on, poor quart=.,rs, limited leave, insufficient supply of clothing, long duty, and arrogance by numerous officers. 12. No Soviet adviser was assigned to the D-2 eibteilung of the Prenzlau 1~`6ri'D. A Soviet officer we--rin..: KeTP uniform carve from Prenziau about every two weeks to confer with the head of the office. 13.
