On 28 January 1954, shouting of orders and singing was heard from the
yard of the Trost Kaserne in Vienna. The installation was guarded by
a sentry with red-bordered black epaulets. A group of 1 NCO and 6 1
with red-bordered black epaulets cars from the direction of Alxinger
9tras:+e and entered the installation. The soldiers hauled a rr.ortar which
had a base plate of one meter in diameter and was loaded on a cart with
two rubber-tired wheels. Four-wheel arriored scout car were
engaged in driving practice on the training grounds of the Trost Ka.serne
Officers and soldiers with red-bordered black epaulets and dependents
were observed entering and leaving the building opposite the Trost Kaserne.
Truck 0 loaded with fuel containers and occupied by a driver and
three soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets left the repair shop at
109 through Ill Trost Strasse toward the water tower. A group of 16 soldiers
with red-bordered black epaulets was seen in the yard of the repaf.r shop
which also included garages. Truck and 8 x 76-mn Zi -33 field
guns were parked in the garages near the water tower on Windten Strasse
which were guarded by a sentry with red-bordered black epaulets. The
garages at 97 through 103 Aixinger 8tr.asse had a quartering capacity of
about 25 vehicles The garages were apparently occupied. About 20 soldiers

insignia,, and soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets, including song
