be vacated for Soviet officers and their dependents. Transfers in Sprembsrg on
3 January 1954 included the move of 12 Soviet families to a house opposite the
distrbt council building in which office rooms were vacated; the move of the
Soviet komendatura to a house at the rear of the castle on the way to the
Srhwana teach, which had housed offices of the district council; and the move
of the VP to the former. revenue office which had housed the Soviet komendatura.

then Tank Instruction had available about 80 tanks and

at Spremberg totalled about 1,600 men.
