1. On 17 January 1954, the barracks installation in Jens--Zwaetzen was occupied
by about 1,200 troops. Sentries.observed wore red-.bordered black epau-ets
with tank and artillery insignia. Between 11: and 17 January , soldiers trained
with G,, SJ-130s and 5 T-34/3-5 tanks in the barrack. yard, while; ;- bo $; 150 soldiers

2. On 17 January, the barracks ins.all ation in Loebstedt was occupied by about
1,500 troops. Two thirds of the troops ::nor e tank insignia a-ad one third
artillery insignia. On 15 January, -:bout 60 soldiers practiced Sri th 6 SU.w?1O0a
in the barracks yard. Other soldiers did aintenarce duty on 4 T..34/35 -tank;
parked in front of one of the ganaaes. On 17 January. abou s o ' ? erS
engaged in close-order dr ill.
3. On 17 January, the Forst Kaserne was occa::_pied. From 5 to 9 p?r... on 1.4 January,
soldiers engaged in an exercise in the area behind the installation. Sev::ra1
guns were noticed. Machine gun and rifle fire was even heard in the town.
On 16 January, several groups of upp to 40 soldiers carrying luggage left the
installation toward the railroad, station. T .hey boar, de,j regular trains toward
Geirar.
