The,foll.owing vessels were observed in and outside of the port of Sassnitz
during the period of 18 January to 5 February 1954.0
A large Soviet tug bearing the Russian markings Mb-83, but flying the East
German flags vas observed in the port of Sassnitzo The. tug was armed with a-r
twin-barreled-antiaircraft gun of between 20 and 25-mm: calibers This gun was
located behind the captaints bridge, the latter being located near the forward
side of the.poop.-----.The tug had a crew of between ~5 and 30 German seamen and
the directions and commands were given in German languages
A t 'o-funnel destroyer, aviragasilhouette similar to that 'sh r on the attached
sketch, was anchored In the no ?thernaiost part of the port of Sassnitz, near the
bank. to destroyer was about 110 meters in length and appeared_ta be about 20
