1. In several districts, draft boards are at present giving medical einatione
to the second contingent of the 1934 class. This call-up will very probably
occur in March 1954.
2. In Samokov, a commission is at present drawing up a list of young men in the
Class of 1935.

3. General Panayot Karakachanov is allegedly Deputy Minister of the Interior. It
is reported that he is the director of the Border Guard section as well as
comander of certain-units of the Interior Troo15,
C It is possible that General Karakachanov h:a's been called to
the post of Deputy Minister of the Interior to replace Lieutenant General A.
Tsanev who was last reported in this position on 23 May 1952. On 8 September
1953, unconfirmed reports stated that.he was ' tranbferrs d from;:thiss post.
Commnenti Latest available information lists a General Karakachanov
as commander of 8 Rifle Division in Vratsa as of September 1952.
