The 1954 import quota for tanning materials has already been fulfilled
-i nd. ?)?A and DHZ now have on hand more tanning material than o- East
G rman industry expects to need during 1954. These ts.nning Verials
are carried aS flaenzliche Gez bstof fe (natural
tanning materials). certain plants of. the East. German tanning industry
woula prefer to have some quantities of synthetic tanning materials
imported.
2. DTA rejected this change, stating that it could not import nynthetic
materials when the plan calls for the import of natural materials
"as this would be a falsification of the plan".
