The Moslem.League I Irecently advised the Somali Youth League (S'YL) to
beware of Communism for the following two reasons:
a. The Communist is an atheist,. and you, the SYL, are Moslems, and

If you, the SYL, are sympathetic to communist ideas you will get no help
from democratic governments.
the Moslem League I uis in no way connected
with the Moslem Brotherhood, which was recently outlawed
it is affiliated with the al-Azhar UniVers y, which imports a
few Somalis each year and educates them in the ways of Islam.
Comment. The "Rabidad al Islamiah" in Arabic.
Comment. Although I the SYL leaders
were farmed at being considered a communist-front organization, a speech
made in November 1951. by Sheikh Mohamond Mohamed, a member of the Central
Committee of the SYL, was very much in favor of the 'USSR as a protector of
small nations:
