Because of shrubbery and terrain configuration, the runway and airfield installations were not visible from the train which runs past the airfield at a distance of approximately 1,000 meters. Because of their height, however, several two- and three-storied dirty gray permanent-type buildings at the field were visible from the train. REPORT DATE DISTR. 16 April 1954 NO. There was no noticeable cha a in the type of planes involved nor in the frequency of flights over anc ang.2 These lights were not of daily frequency and the planes there were a few air force ground personnel in Nanch'ang City. These men wore khaki-colored Jackets, blue cotton trousers, and leather boots with rubber soles. Their cap emblems were red stars with the Chinese characters for "Air Force" on them. They wore no discernible unit identifications or rank insignia although some of them wore patches over the left upper jacket pocket. Several wore the MAO Button and campaign buttons for the Fiuai.yin (N 33-35, E 119-05), Yangtze crossing, and Korean campaigns. 25X1 25X1 Chiahsing (N 30-1+6, E 120-45) Airfield was not operational and 25X1 had never been so under the Chinese Communists.
