I two submarines were observed
at approximately N 511-48, E 16-1+0. The distance between the two submarines
was about four nautical miles. Both vessels were on a westerly course at a
speed of about two or three knots. Both submarines developed li ht smoke
from the stern as though they were operating On diesel engines.
