This is UNEVALUATED Information 25X1 ...,11.0.11?41...v.?????????., 25X1 1. 487 workers of the Bauunion Brandenburg 25X1 were employed at Tutow airfield on 30 January 1954. 25X1 2. It February 1954, 400 to 500 workers of the Bauunion Brandenburg were employed at the airfield. The former two landing fields were combined into one airfield and the wedded area between the two sections was cleared and graded. Formerly,a large portion of the quartering buildings had been located in the wooded area. Low wooden quartering. buildings for the non-local workers and a fire dppartmpnt were being erected at the field. Construction work was supervised by Soviet Air orce officers. 3. In February, work had not been completed on the concrete runway which extends from north-northwest to south-southeast. Concreting work had been in full swing ientil the frost period. During the frost period, the workers were engaged in cleaning and grading work. 4. The airfield was surrounded by a board fence along the railroad line between Tutow and Krukow railroad stations.' Poles, apparently for an additional board fence, had been put into the ground from the Krukow railroad station toward the northwest along the western side of the field. The guardhouse, occupied by factory police, was located in the southwestern section of the field. When compared with its previous location, it had been shifted 50 to 100 meters farther to the east, thus leaving Krukow railroad station outside of the fence. 5. The motor vehicles at the field were refueled from barrels in the fuel dump in the southern section of the field, about 400 meters south-southeast of the guardhouse. About 400 meters east of the guardhouse were two fuel containers, each about 7 meters long and 2.5 meters in diameter. Four additional containers arrived at the end of ;?ebruary 0. Of the roomer hangars vnly one waa available; this Servieeeble.hangar was used as storage shed for cement. 7. 3xcavation work was under way at the southeastern edge of the alt apatite rmods. The workers employed there said that aircraft dispersal area would be constructed ther-=- 25X1 F?LGorarReq6. The information indicates that the Bauunion Brandenburg has made little progress at Tutow airfield (referred to as Construction Project it1031-v activity is expected to be made after the end of the frost period. 25 YEAR RE-REVIEW R _ Jj; ONLY Approved For Release 2009/04/09: CIA-RDP80-00810A004000450003-5 25X1
