it A military camp is located just outside Kiskoros (Y6/N52) approximately 300 m.
off the road to Soltvadkert. The permanent strength of the garrison, which
inoludee some artillery units, is estimated to be from 3,000 to 3,500 men, The
bakery at Kiskoros supplies the camp with a daily average of two and one-half
tons of bread; 2,200 to 2,500 buns on Sunday; and 800 to 1,000 buns on Sunday
for the artillery units.
2. The camp is left almost empty each summer from May to September, when the units
move to training camps in the Oealapuszta and Nagybugac areas.
3. Other military barracks in the area are located at SzabadszCl1LLe (Y6/N55) and
at Xiskunlachiliza (Y48/N49). The latter, the largest in the area, has a rail
siding.
4. Exploratory drilling for oil was begun in 1953 just outside Kiskhrgs on the
left of the road to Akaszto. Although drilling had reached a depth of 1,500 m.
in November 1953, no oil had been found.
