1. At 1200,p..m. on 4 March 1954, no air activity was conducted at Wolzow airfield.
Around 4 p.m. s, the running of jet engines was heard, and after a hot time' several
take-offs were heard. About 5 P.M.,, two Yak 1'Ls landed at the field. Subsequently, a
U441G-15 landed there. After a short time, 12 landings were made by swept-back Jet air-

{} P.M. about 25 aircraft Caere observed parked at the fie ly. itbout 6 p.m., six aircraft
uciyc on the runway and some take-of ft were a?de,,
2. Aar guns estimated at 70 to 80 mm which were not yet emplaced were observed about 100
r>eter?s southwest of the Noupetershain Welzow railroad lime A a bout 100 meters ~. northwest
of the Bahnsdorf settlement. Nearby were radar sets of AAA 1 MK 2 type. The A! 4 iZC 3
type radar r t was observed at its >revious l.acati.on ;north of'?tho northeastern end of
the runway.
A radio truck on top of which was a ma; ?,, about 2 meters high and braced by two guy
wires, was parked in the northeastern extension of the runway. Just n. xt iA i thhc radio
truck was a canvas-covered vehicle. The PKV-45 AF station was no long ,-r observed at
its previous location about 1, 5G0 meters northeast of the runway aiid. The outer low
frequency approach beacon was still located about 1,500 meters northeast of Neupeters?-
hai.n and just southeast of the railroad line to i)rebkau. Several radio trucks were
parked next to the beaconz3
4. A strictly guarded dutip with several watchtowars was observed in the triangle formed
by the Senftenberg-C9ttbus and Neupetershain-ielzow railroad lines, near contour line
125. Five bunker-like buildings were identified in the dump which was surrounded by
a double-fonce.4 four three-story buildings and 25X1
two two-story buildings in the area south-or the previous quartering area..5 Red lamps
were seen at the no rtheastern end the runway and In the northeastern extension of
the runway.
