On 3 March 1954, 0 passed along Parchim airfield and observed 25 MiG-15 or
II-MiG-15s and some conventional aircraft at the field. No air activity was being
conducted.
~~,Comment, Since the end of 8ecember 1953, or beginning of January 1954: Par-
chim aixfi?ld has been occupied by a fighter regiment. This regiment is believed
to ~e-the former Soviet training regiment for VPL units (Aeroclub) which had been
stationed in Parchim prior to late July 1952. The number of MiG-15s observed at
the field approximately ogre?s with the assumed aircraft strength of the regiment.
