THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) 1. At 2:50 p.m. GMT on 11 March 1954 a radio beacon with the following characteris- tics was intercepted: a. Wave length: 810 motors; b. Frequency: 370 kos.; c. Call Letters: LZJ; d. Power: QSA5; and e. Tone: High-pitched, very clear. 2. The signal emitted was as follows: the call letters LZJ given twice, over a period of 10 seconds; a continuous tone lasting 30 seconds; thus, within a 2-minute period, the call letters were given six times and there were three pauses. The broadcast is automatic and the transmission speed is not over 700. In view of the strength of the intercept, it may be said that the radio beacon is located in the vicinity of Sofia.
