Rocket Factory at Pus,ow THE SOURCE EVALUATIONS IN THIS REPORT ARE DEFINITIVE, THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE, (FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) 1. The weapons factory in Stalowa Wola(N 50-34) E 22-03) is situated about 400 meters west of the Stalowa Wola.railroad station. The railroad station in turn is located about 200 meters west,of the town. The factory, which was not fully completed in the spring,of 1952, consisted of the following buildings: one two-story building which served, as the administration building; seve , large buildings which made up the factory proper; 'Ire eral small buildings which served as garages,-storehouses, etc. The factory area wat" 4u.rrounded by a high barbed wire fence which had several entrances for trains and motor vehicles. The electricity for the factory, as well as the town of Stalowa Wola, was supplied by a large power plant located near Ozet (N 50-33, E 22-05). 2. The factory produced the following items: Large caliber antiaircraft guns which we 'mo'unted on a four-wheel chassis. The barrels on these guns were over three meters in lenlxth. these guns were much larger than the ordinary field artillery b. Antitank" guns which were mounted on a_twia-rwheel chassis. The barrels on these guns were about two.meters in length, and the guns were about half of bhe caliber.of the afore-mentioned antiaircraft guns. C. Soviet odel Degtyarev light machine guns. d. "Machine pistols" ("'.T.") of 7.62 mm caliber.' The factory, had its own firing range located east of Stalowa Wola.on the western side- of the San River. The ammunition for testing these guns was.pupplied by an am unition factory located between Debica.(N 50-03, E.21-25) and M~.elec (N 50-17, E 2I-25) gun. SECRET ARMY J X NAVY IX AIR NO. The factory had the following equipment: two old funnels (sic), two newl constructed funnels, two large Martin furnaces; and two arc: furnaces iec.lukow The factory, employed about 30,000 people, i.e., about 10,000 men and women on each 025X1 ?the three shifts. 2 The workers lived in Stalowa Wola, Plawo (N 50-34, E 22-04), Nisko (N 50-32, E 22-09), Lezajsk (N 50-16) E 22-25), Rozwadow (N 50-35) E 22-03) and nearby villages. The factory was guarded by one company of the 4th KBW nternal Security Co ~ which was billeted near the factory in one-story barracks located on the easterngside t~ of the newly constructed 'oaf which runs f the factory to the Stalowa Wola rail- road station.. The guards were armed with ptriet "pepesze.l (PPSh.). Entrance to the .factory was by special passes, valid for three months periods, which ssued bry the afore-mentioned guard company. The employees often destroyed their passes in the hope that they would e admitted into the fact ` 25X1 but.the factory authorities allowed-them to enter because they did not .want to haves Any slow-downs in production. The power plant in 0ze;t was guarded by industrial guards who were supervised by officers.of the KBW company. r% a former German' actory near Pustkow (N' " 5 - , E 21-30) was 25X1 reconstructed 09 and was produc~.ng artillery missile f s or medium and heavy ttillery and rockets similar to the German V-2. The factory allegedly has a firing range for the testing,of rockets. (Comment: Other information has reported that Stalowa Wola has changed over to the pr*d.d.ction.of consumer goods.
