Within the past several weeks., approximately 30 Chinese residents of Myitkyina, Bhamo, Kyaukme, and Lashio have received letters from relatives in China re- questing remittances from Burma. The relatives state that it is necessary for them to purchase Chinese Communist Government bonds and that money from over- seas relatives is required to make the purchases. 2. All persons known to have received such letters have complied with the requests and have sent remittances to China. Comment.
