recruits were activated with the individual battalions. In Marehg, 62 recruits were
aseigned to the regiment. The recruits received basic training in the training
oection and were then distributed to the individual battalions.
2. On Red Amy Day on 23 February; Captain Druecichanner (fun), regimental Polit
officero addoessed the regiment. A company comanders meeting; having as Subject
the deficiencies and shortcomings of the uniter was held on 24 and 25 February.

[:::=1Commert, The strength of the regiment is considerably below the authorized
strength. The infantry regiments of Division Prenzlau, for instance, have
strengths of 1,500 to 1,800 men. As the recruiting campaign so far failed to
bring the desired results, it is doubted that the regiment will be brought to
authorized strength by June 1954.
omment... The Division Eggesin and Prenziau also conducted exercises at
regimental level In narnh. It is rather imrrobable that the discipline and
efficiency of the Rostock regiment should have changed to that extent during a
few weeks, although since the statements by Colonel Bleck (fnu)9 the regimental
commander, were contradictory.
