On and after 3 May, troop trains of a similar composition as above allegedly have been dispatched from the Cottbus reilroad district to Dresden. Most of the trains operated 25X1 to atd from Koenigsbrueck. 1. 1----lagnmot. If the troop train should actuellfcarry an army unit, dispatching and receiving stations indicate that contingents of the 18th (?) Engr Bn of the let Vech 25)(1 Div went to Roaslan for field exercises on the Elbe River. 2. gomen-. The troop trains probably carried units of the 7th Gds Mech Div to the Lieberose troop training grounds. 1 I advance details left Fuerstenwalde for Lieberose by road and on regular passenger trains between 16 and . 25 April. 1954. Departures from Potsdam, Wildpark and Brandenburg were previously re- 25X1/ ?rted 1 I I As no definite conclusions can be drawn on the identity of the troops loaded at these railroad stations, the assumption mentioned in tho reference report is still upheld. Movements observed include 9 troop trains from Rathenow, and 10 troop trains from Potedam and Wildnark. As, in the spring of 1953, about the same number of trains was eeployed for the transfer to Altengrabow, 25)(1 it is believed that the moveKeet probably terminated on 5 may 1954. / gement. The troop trains from Hennigsdorf Which is located south of Velten pro- 25X1i'ablY carried components of the 31st AAA. Div from Fuerstenberg to Neubukaw. 5. 1002*. The troop train probably carried elements of the light MA regiment of tee ei.nd AAA Div (US) stationed at Kuestrin to the 25xifor combat firing practice. 6. The composition of the troop trains 25X1vioved to the Teoplin troop training grounds. 7. 25X1 8. Altengrabow troop training grounds 2 gR*1 25X1 indicate that probably advance details 'Tent. The two troop traiere probably carried contingents of the 63rd AAA Div to Wustrow for firing practice with live ammunition. - -,;omment. As the 9th Each Div, which is stationed in the Cdttbus area, moved to the Forst Tauer troop training grounds on and after 26 April 1954, the information that troop trains went from the Cottous railroad district to Dresden is not given credence. Aather it is belieyed that Koenigebrueok, which is located in the southern part of the Cottbur railroad district, will be the receiving station of troop trains from the Dres- den railroad district which, during the movement to slimmer camps, are expected from the billeting areas of the 8th Gds Mech Div and llth Gds Tank Div. 25X1 Approved For ligfaVat 2003/08/06 : CIA-RDP80-00810A00430
