In Darlowo (Ruegenwalde) harbor, which had been closed to foreign vessels since the end of 1952, grain was unloaded from foreign vessels at the end of April 1954. The grain was to be forwarded to Bucharest. 2. The entrance to the harbor is partially blocked by a deposit of silt along the northeast pier. The depth outside the harbor entrance is 16 feet. In the harbor, as well as south of the silt deposit, the depth is 14 feet. 3. All wharfs are intact. In the inner harbor, near the southwest wharf, there are two silos. The entire harbor is surroundedby aboard fence. 4. Inspection and guarding of vessels was very strict. Vessels' sealings were broken open. Harbor workers were subjected to a body search when they left vessels. Crews were forbidden to go ashore. 5. Supplies cannot be purchased in Darlowo.
