On 10 March 1954, the VEB Zementwerk (cement plant) Steudnitz in Dornburj Steudnitz on the Sasle River started the delivery of a newly developed fertilizer, a sinter phosphate containinz 16 to 19 percent of P205 which was soluble in citric acid. Experiments with the new fertilizer, which has the same properties as the Rhenania phosphate, were completed. The new fertilizer will be tried on a lar;;e scale on nationalized and cooperative farma.2 1. Rhenania phosphate contains approximately 12 percent of P205, 3 to 4 percent of K20 and 20 to 30 percent CaO. 2. Following the resumption of the production of sinter phosphate, the Zementwerk Steudnitz which previously bad belon;ed to the RV Baustoffindustric (construction: materials industry) was subordinated to the Chemical Department of the Ministry of Heavy industry.
