REMARKS
On 13 May 1954, preliminary work for soil tests was started in an area about
10 km west of Querfurt under the supervision of Senior Lieutenant Roth of
the VPL construction staff in Cottbus. Roth had previously been erroneou Av re-
ported as lieutenant. The soil tests were scheduled to be started in June 1954.
Source believed that a now airfield was to be built, but apparently no surveying
work had thus far been started?

be provided with a runway about 2,000 meters long, or detail sketch of area in
which the new airfield is scheduled to be built, see Annex. The detail sketch is
taken from Map GSGS 4414, shoot 4634. The area is about 10 km west of Querfurt
and about 3 km north of Landgrafroda.
