Planning Section f. Purchasing Section g. Accounting Section h. Bookkeeping Section. 2. Prior to 1945 the mill was a privately owned plant, belonging to.one Poznanski (fnu). In 1945 it was taken over by the Polish government. It is the second largest' plant of its kind., in Lodz; the largest is the "WidzewskA Manufaktura" which is known as P.Z.P.B. No. 1.. The Julian Marchlewski State Cotton Mill produces different types of d6tton fabrics. The cotton is imported from the "USSR and the major part of the pro- duction is also exported to the USSR. Only a small quantity is sold on the domestic market. The mill has the following transportation e&r}s at its disposal: three .locomotives, twelve tracks, and seven tractors. It also uses the State Motor Transport 'Panstwows. Komunikacja Samochodowa-PKS) facilities and the railroad. STATE _. Themill has its own pow+eretation producing 6100 kilowatts. There are two steam turbines installed., one AEG turbine with a ..capacity of 2500 kilowatt and. BBC turbine wit. a.capacity of 3600 kilowatts. Water idssupplied`in part directly from the town*s .water works and-in part from water tanks on the premises which are filled..with the aid of asmall steam operated pump with a.capacity of hp. Gas is supplied by the town's gasworks and coal is delivered from.Slask. 1400 (Silesia) 5. The mill employs..about,12.,000 persons including 1000 technical and administrative employees. Therkers.are required to.work in three shifts: 0600 - 1400 hours., 1400- 2200 hours., 2200 - 0600 hours. Entrance to the kipdergarden for the children of the workers, 4. Five-story, concrete building 1+0x200x25 meters, accommodates the spinning mill and weaving plant. The reconstruction of the building was.completed in 1952. 16. Four-story, concrete building, 30x200x20 meters, containing the chemical _2 laboratory and therefore, guarded by the KBW (Internal Security Corps). In addition this building is surrounded by a fence topped with barbed wire. It is rumored that.this laboratory works.for the military, 17. Power station, 50x50x16 meters. 18. One-story, concrete building, 20x90x5 meters, used for cotton storage. 19. One-story., concrete building., dyeing plant. 20. Water pumping station.. 21. Water tank. 22.
