In early April 1954, the following- observation were made in the Wenchou
area:
a. No dredging operations were being conducted in the area extending from
the mouth of the Ouchiang to the eastern outskirts of Wenchouj no dredg
ing operations had been conducted in this area since 1949.
b. No mechanical facilities Tor unloading were at as Oh ai (2612/2672)
Wharf, located at the eastern end of Wenchou.
C. No railroad spur lines led into any part of the wharf area.
d. There were no Wharf areas that had spatial restrictions placed on them.
2. On 9 April, all craft had to proceed to the port authority.building prior
to departure from the harbor.
3. On 10 April, a 1,000-ton vessel was moored at-Chupai Wharf.
4. In Early April 1954 electricity ras'available to residents in Wenchou from
1900 to 2400 hours daily. There vac not restriction on the number of out-
