1. The medical services of the a+Larmed forces ie under the direct control
of the Health Directorate ( assigugyi Osoport Fbn&ceSR) of the Ministry of
Defense. Poth the director and his deputy hold the rank of lieutenant colonel. Lt.
Col. Lassld Iinnnwi, Deputy Director, is also head of the scientific depart-
ment of the Directorate.
2. The Ministry of DePyennqP flee controls the Ins itutg4 for Military Medical
Research (HondeRessaigu-i Tudomalwoe Eutato Intiset). Major Rejovaky (fnu)
heads the department for food reeearohe
3. The Health Directorate organizes the medical axeminationa for recruits called
up to service. I.Q. examinations are given only in special oases or on
request by the recruit.
4. Medical discharges for enlisted men and officer ranks through major are
subject to the decision of a military medical board, which is made uD of
three plwsiciane. Officers, above major, must take more stringent medical
examinations, and their medical discharges must receive the personal approval
of the Minister of Defense.
5. Soldiers discharged at the completion of their normal military service do
not take a medical examination. The only exception is the soldier who has
contracted a disease during his military service.
