(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) The following Soviet naval vessels were observed at the time and place indicated below: a. On 24 April 1954, one Soviet barge unloaded torpedoes at Sassnitz. b. On 17 May 1954, submarine chaser ogether with two other vessels of the same type were observe a Sassnitz. Motor torpedo boats departed from Sassnitz at 1430 hours. c. At 1600 hours on 17 May, one large destroyer and seven minesweepers were observed participating in training exercises in Trompar Bay. d. At 1500 hours on 18 May, in Trompar Bay, about ten motor torpedo boats and minesweepers were observed around a lighter which carried a relatively small load. e. On 18 May, submarine chaser) and minesweepers were observed in Sassnitz. The vessels were believed to be about 120 meters long. Each ship had one stack, one turret, and a completely straight bow. The turret was described as similar to the turret on the ADMIRAL MAKAROV; the turret was also described as being straight but possibly somewhat slanting (sic). There were also 15 submarine chasers of the BO type, two submarines, and three motor torpedo boats in the harbor. The torpedo boats were moored at the south quay near the bend in the river. In the same area as the torpedo boats, there was a p(ntoon about 60 meters long with a freeboard of about 30 centimeters. There were three manholes on the deck of the pontoon; each manhole was about 60 centimeters in diameter. About 15 meters from the manholes there were four rods, each of which was about one meter high, on the deck of the pontoon. i. On 22 May,submarine chasers) were observed at j.
