Since the beginning of 1954, the VEB Abus Leipzigen,$Stah1bau and Verzinkerei
(Nationalized Steel Construction and Zinc Plating Plants in Leipzig is said
to have concentrated on the construction of marine railways capable. of lifting
ships of up to 1,200 tons and pulling them ashore. The, marine railways are
scheduled to be exported to the USSR.
