1.1 the engines on the TUAPSE were overhauled every
three months, but the ship has never been in drydock.

event the ship was intercepted. No.Soviet merchant ships are armed.
3. On its last voyage the TUAPSE loaded kerosene at Constanta, Rumania. No
other cargo was taken on at any other port.
4. When the TUAPSE entered Satellite ports, a guard was placed on the gang-
way to check passports. No one was permitted ashore without a passport,
and the deck area was constantly watched and checked. Crews were per-
mitted ashore in groups only.
5. The captain and the political officer of the TUAPSE read lectures on
political subjects to the crew. First Mate Dmitrly Kuznetsov is the
chief political officer on the ship, and the electrician Mikhail Zakurdarev
is the first assistant political officer.
