1. The Pharmaceutical Institute in Warsaw has elaborated a laboratory method of obtaining

n, a hormone which prevents coagulation of blood and combats the formation
of clots. According to this method, 70,000 units of heparin are obtained from
10 kg. of raw materials (lungs and animal liver). Work is in progress at present
for applying this method.to industrial production.',
