1. The German language is heard in Szczecin (Stettin) much more frequently than
was formerly the case. Since about late 195:3, the Germans have t own
German schools and a German home in Szczecin where they even raisee German

ever, many Germans came to Poland from the state enterprises turned over to
the Poles by the Soviets, The Soviets almost exclusively employed Germans
in their factories Since the'. later ,part of 1953, Germans have come from
East Germany and from the Soviet Union and have been employed by various Polish
enterprises as experts, These German experts, together with similar Soviet ex-
perts, have come to Poland to establish industries which formerly were located
there, but which were dismantled by the Soviets and transported to the Soviet
Union,
