In addition to the ZUR Research and Development Plan, which as a part of the total Economic Plan has to be approved by the Volkskamnner, there is in ZAFT another plan which is not subject to Volkskammer approval. Thy plan is designated as the "Green Plan" after a green diagonal stripe with which all project form sheets falling under this plan are marked. 3. The Green Plan came into existence early in 1954. It contains all those research and development projects which are carried out for the Volkspolizei. This plan, however, must not be mistaken for the research and development plan for the Volkspolizei which is on file with the Ministry of the Interior. The following are some of the research projects included in the ZAFT "Green Plan": a. Development of an installation made from rubber and to be inflated with compressed air, for the purpose of lifting ships. Charged with the 25X1 development: Gummiwerk Elbe, Wittenberg. b. Comparative investigation of natural and synthetic fiber material for use as tire cord. Charged with the investigation: Gummiwerk Riess and Gummiwerk Fuerstenwalde, in cooperation with Kunstfaserwerk Wilkelm Pieck in Schwarza and the Institute for Textile Technology in Karl-Marx-Stadt. d. Development of rubber rafts. Charged with the development: unknown. d. Development of cover made on polyamid base for the tread links of tracked vehicles. Charged with the development: unknown. e. Development of perlon silk of high tenacity and ductility, as parachute material. Charged with the development: Kunstfaserwerk Wilhelm Pieck in Schwarza, and the Institute for Textile Technology in Karl-Marx-Stadt. f. Development of conveyor belts with cord from natural arid s n5iu `;ic fibers. Charged with the development: Reifenwerk Fuerstenwalde in cooperation with Professor Frenzel (fnu), of the Institute for Text:-le Technology at the Technical University, Dresden, Dr. Boehringer (fnu)? of Kunstfaserwerk Wilhelm Pieck in Schwarza, and Chief Engineer Walther (fnu), of the Institute for Textile Technology, Karl-Marx-Stadt.
