1. The following personnel of VEB Optik Carl Zeiss Jena were flown to
Moscow in late May 1954 to attend the vast German Fair "Progress of
Demogratic Germany" being held there from about 5 June to 5 July 1954. 1

research on optical equipment for military purposes.

e) Senf (fnu), another technical sales specialist who before World
War II represented Zeiss Jena in India for many years.

g) Kroll (fnu), who is normally in charge of the Jena district sales
office.
2. A second group of personnel from Zeiss Jena was flown to Moscow,
presumably also to attend the fair, leaving East Germany about mid-June.
This group consisted of the following:
a) Duchek (phonetic spelling) (fnu), a young technical sales specialist.
b) Voehse (fnu), another very young technical sales specialist.
 b) Voehae, another very young technical sales specialist.
c) An unidentified person who has been With Zpiss Jena only a relatively
short time but has a reputation of being a "Y' 1 %" SED party ^an.
