1. On 14 February 1954, when ship entered Ventspils Harbor, about
located on the starboard side of the incoming vessel.
A submarine tender., similar to the, former German submarine
tender TSINGITAU but much smaller in size.,was moored near the submarines.
2. Another vessel, between 50 and 60 meters long, with a rather heavy armament
for a ship.of its size. was berthed at the naval pier. It had a forward
twin turret with two guns of an estimated caliber of 125 millimeters each.,
with a twin-barreled 20-mm gun on top of the turret. There was also a
single turret aft with a 125-mm gun,with two 20-mm guns on top of the turret.
A 37-mm gun was on the forward section of the forecastle. The two open rear
sides of the two turrets were canvas-covered. A sicklec.shaped radar scanner
was on the bridge. This vessel was unmarked and painted gray.
vh1bh looked rather neglected had. been hauled up ashore; informant believed
that' they were one-man submarines.

4. The KRONSHTADT Class vessels, when entering or leavi 7, carried a
black ball at the starboard arm of the signal 25X1
yard. also flew a red
pennant with a white ball in the middle at the port yardarm. While moored at
night, these. vessels carried a white light vertically above a red lignt in lieu
of the ball. The inside vessel of one group of KRONSHTADT Class vessels tied 25X1
up one abeam the other. showed international signal flag "J" (blue-white and
blue horizontally) on the starboard yardarm, and that of the following group
flag "M" (blue with a white St. Andrew's cross). Each boat of the two groups 25X1
carried'two international flags "z" (black-yellow-blue-and-red) one above the
other.
5. A totwl of 21 crew members was seen on deck I,ihen it entered 25X1
or eft harbor. Six men were--on the foredeck 10 on on the
