REMARKS
1..- it 1400 on 17' July,, there was no air activity at Altenburg airfield.
The weather was"unfavorable. Several trucks, part*of which were
involved in drivers' training, were observed. After 2030 on 20 July,
MiG-15s or U-MiG-15s practiced flying. At 0650 on 27 July, 7 MiG-15e
,or U-MiG 15s took off and subsequently practiced local ;formation flying. 1.
'Betweat0600 and 1100 on 17 July, MiG-15s or U-MiG-15s practiced flying.
There was a closedosiling with intermittent rain showers. The aircraft
took off individually and in elements of two, disappeared in the clouds
at an altitude of about 300 meters and returned after 15 to 20'minutes,
for landing. The noise of the jet engines was continuously heard:, There'
was no flying on 18 and 19 July. During daytime on 20 July, no air
activity was observed. The weather was 2/10 overcast. About 2100, the
noise of flying jet aircraft was heard., About 1130 on,21 July, a MiG-15
made a, local, flight of ~25 to 30 minutes, duration. Between, 0800 and 0900.
on 22 July,, there was 'no flying.
nt. Two fighter regiments are believed to be stationed at
Altenburg airfield. The blind flying practices on'17 July are noteworthy:.
