According to rumors in March 1954, the 3cr.ROedigen airfield was
to be placed at the disposal of the Oesellschaf ; fuer Sport and
Techn1k (Association for Sports and Technic). On 5 Jums, the gates
to the airfield were closed and sentries with dogs patrolled the

In February 1954, the asphalt area of Markgrafenheide was noted to be
warped and damaged by bomb and artillery hits. Several blasted
buildings were seen in the areas There were no indications noted
that reconditioning work was under way,

In Daly 1954, there were no observations indicating that an occupation
of Pasewralk-Franzfelde airfield would be Vie. l q,:) wooden
buildings or other buildings were seen. Sheep were grazing on the field.

In May and June 1954, no soldiers were seen at Plauen airfield. Nor
were there any indications as to changes or construction work. The
airfield area was unguarded.

During the winter of 1953/1954, Rove.tockm ienehe airfield was
flooded and frozen as. the result of a failure of the pa aping
station of the Fisch Coaibi.nateo after the field thawed in
February, the concrete areas were warped and holes were noted.
The field was again flooded during the high-water period, and
it seemed that it would be very difficult to recondition the airfieldo
