The following air activity and aircraft were observed at Grossenhaiin 25X1
airfield between 20 and 27 August 1954

were limited.

Air activity was discontinued when rain set in.

There was a closed, ceiling at an altitude of 400 to 500 meters; at 13008
there was a thunderstox.
26 A,!A :,st- During the morning, 10 to 12 individual flights were made by

2 Cu ast0 BotFroen 1000 land 1630 and again between 1600 and 19309 there
was intensive air activity., by aircraft taking off individually and in
elements of two. Repeatedly MG-15-L9 or G41A015s towing air sleeves were
seon aloft. Twenty-eight 2iiC15s or Uai.iu15s were parked at the field
while 4 to 5 others were users aloft,
2. %n late August,, the Token type radar set, was surrounded by a fence. Another
radar set of undetermined 1,ype which previously had been located near the
Token type set had been moved about 150 meters further tathe southwest.
Two masts of equal height were seen about 100 meters east of the Token--=type
Corn;aent. Grossenhain airfield is believed to be occupied by two
fighter regiLonts and a fighter division headquarters.
