1. Two divisions of the Territorial Antiaircraft Defense (Protiletadlova obrana
statniho uzemi- PLOS) are located in Bohnice barracks. Source reported the
following regiments: the 164th AAA Regiment, the 151st AAA Regiment, and the
160th AAA Regiment. Each regiment had six or seven batteries, with one or two radar
units of German origin.

3. The 164th AAA Regiment was equipped with 88-mm. guns of German make. Each battery
had an Ustredni Zamerovac (Fire Control Apparatus - UZ) of German make
or a copy1of a German type made by Meopta, N.E., The generator (250 cc~ was made by
the Union factory in Ceske Budejovice. Some batteries used German generators
(150 cc) and a very obsolete type of Hungarian generator (60 cc). The Ustredni
Zamerovac bore';the inscription "Mark 47".

5. Gun sites are of two categories: (a) permanent, where the gun crew is ready
to start action in a few minutes; and (b) emergency; to be manned only in case 25X1
of attack. Permanent gun sites in the Prague area, known to Source, are at
Suchdol, Mecholupy, Sterboholy, Barrandov, Kbely, Horomerice, Petrin,
Ruzyne, and Prague Castle. Permanent gun sites haire telephone and radio contact with
Bohnice Headquarters. Every hour on the hour the communication is tested by
a control call. Gun sites can communicate with each other via the Bohnice switch-
board. Every gun post has four to six guns and one UZ (central control), and the
majority had a radar unit. Emergency gun posts are situated between the permanent
posts to strengthen the volume of fire. Source knows of two such posts in the
vicinity of the Bo nice barracks, manned by the 164th AAA Regiment.
6. An AAA unit equipped with 105-mm. guns is stationed in the Motol district of
Prague.
7. In the fall of 1953, officers of Bohnice AAA regiments were trained on new
Soviet type AAA guns and Soviet type of UZ. The guns were 75-mm. caliber.
AAA regiments have field training twice a year at the Army Training Area in the
Kezmarok (,N49_o8, E20-26)- Levoca (N49-02, E20-36) area. Training consists of firing
at a balloon towed by aircraft; at simulated paratrooper jumps, with time fuse
ammunition; at tanks, with antitank ammunition; and normal firing at invisible
targets similar to field artillery practice.
8. When a prominent visitor from the USSR comes to Czechoslovakia via air, all
AAA units along the route are alerted for "protection" against U.S. fighter planes.
9. Ammunition for 88-mm. AAA guns is delivered in wooden cases, each containing
