The tubercu- losis rate in Albania is very high and the population is "ainst hospital treatment. There is a shortage of doctors in the country. German doctors, (East German?) who would be welcomed by the people, have not been admitted by the Albanian government. However, doctors from other People's Republics are serving in Albania. 2. Albanian doctors work an average of 12 hours a day; foreign doctors work only eight hours and receive better pay. Three new sanatoria have been established. The largest is located near Tirana.
