RD REFERENCES THE SOURCE EVALUATIONS IN THIS REPORT ARE DEFINITIVE. THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) Recall of Reserves 1. Informant claims that around 15-16 August 1954, about 100 men from Etropole (N 42-50, E 24-00), Botevgrad Okoliya were mobilized. The majority of them were mobilized for only 15 days; the remainder for two months. Informant states that they were sent to Botevgrad. 2. Informant claims that in September 1954, there were less soldiers in Devin than in the winter of 1953-54, because more of them were sent towerds'the border line. The rest were sent to Buynovo, or transferred to Smolyan. Informant could give no additional information. 25X1 Length of Training for Trudovaks 25X1 3. Informant heard that a new order had been issued reducing Trudovak sexv1.ce from 36 to 34 months for youths with a university education. Return of Deported Families 4. On 15 March 1954, deported families began returning to their native villages and towns. According to informant, all deported families were gradually returned to their native homes. Informant claimed that there was a general order forthe return of deported families. There they received another announcement stating they were to be returned to their native home, and were to receive all their property. they received only two rooms back in their home and were without work. Later their entire home and most of their field was returned to them. Registration of Trucks 6. Informant claims that in April 1954, the number of old numbers were completely chanced for new ones_ were collected in front of the office of UAT (Upravlenie na Avtomobilniya Transport; Auto Transportation Management). Informant does not know for what purpose the numbers were changed, but elieves that such changes occurred throurrhout the country, because he also observed trucks with new numbers in G`otse Delchev.(forierly Nevrokop). the numbers being changed in Teteven.
